What is the best time of year to go on a safari in Tanzania?

The truth is, there’s no single “best” time to visit Tanzania, as it depends entirely on what you want to see. The dry season, from late June to October, is generally considered the best time for wildlife viewing. During these months, the grass is shorter and animals gather around the few remaining water sources, making them much easier to spot in places like the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. However, this is also the peak season, so it can be more crowded and expensive. For a different experience, consider the “green season” from November to May. You’ll see lush, green landscapes and newborn animals, with far fewer tourists. The wildebeest calving season in the Southern Serengeti (January to February) is a phenomenal time to see predator action.
